Once you recieve the credit report, how do you get the creditors in court to dispute with them?

I read someplace that you can take someone on your credit report reporting it as negative , to court to have the item removed, if they do not say that the debt is valid in court, they have to remove the item, by law? Is this true, so to start, once you receive the credit report, how do you get the creditors in court to dispute with them? Do you take them to small claims court or where do you have court? What if they're out of state?

The fair credit reporting act is a Federal Law. You can sue them in any court that handles matters at the district level. The suit can be filed in Federal District Court in the area that you live in, The law is designed to allow non legal experts to file the claim. It is not cheap to file in Federal Court. The last time that I checked, it was 125 dollars. If you win though, you will ask to get that back. The thing that you have to have is the paperwork that shows that it is not valid and that you have asked the credit agencies to remove the item and they did not. IF the offer to settle out of court then you ask for the money that you spent also. Finally you have to have them served with the papers.
