How long does an unpaid judgement stay on your credit report?

I have a couple of judgements that I know I'll never be able to pay and I can't afford bankruptcy or I would have done that already. Will they eventually "fall off" my credit report after a certain number of years or will they be on there until they are paid.

Judgments stay on your credit report for 7-years or until the statute of limitations runs out whichever is longer.
Reply:Length of time varies by state. Judgments do fall off Except when they are renewed. This can be done indefinably….. or until they Are paid.

Reply:Judgements remain on your credit report the same as Bankruptcy, 10yrs
Reply:untill payed
Reply:Might depend on the type of judgement. Civil fines (court fees, fines, etc.) never go away. Not even in bankruptcy. Unpaid bills will haunt you for 5 to 7 years. Your credit score will suffer; car loans, your cell phone plan, credit card interest rates, application for a mortgage, trying to rent a place - they will all be affected and you will pay more for those services.

The debt has probably been sold to a collection agency. Expect them to hound you during all this time. Typically, they add 12% interest and a $300 fee to the bill. If you don't think you can ever do anything about these, just make sure you aren't getting into a pattern and letting it happen repeatedly. It is a big mistake.
