How many times can the same item appear on credit report?

I just received a collection notice for a personal loan from 15yrs ago that I never paid off and was on my credit report for 7 yrs. Can they mark my credit report for another 7 yrs.?

after 7 years they cant persue you for this debt anymore. If it is still on your credit file its a mistake. any unpaid debt drops off 7 years from the date of the original deliquence ie the last time you made a payment. simply call equifax, transunion and experian the three credit bureau's and dispute this. They will remove it when you tell them how old it is and they investigate.
Reply:honey they can do whatever they want
Reply:Yes! I took a credit report class and found out that if you don't pay a judgement (not sure about collections) and it falls off, your creditor can pay to have the judgement put back on for another 7-10 years.
