How long does it take for a creditor to drop off from a person's credit report?

I just received a copy of my credit report. I have a few creditors on it that have been paid off for over a year and they haven't reported for over a year. I was interested to know how long those items will stay on my credit report.

You need to contact the 3 credit bureau's and DEMAND they remove it from your file.. If it is paid in full it should have been. Contact the creditors and demand the same thing. They have 30 days to respond. If you do both, it will be off your report in no time flat. You may even want to add a comment on your report stating what has happened. Good luck.
Reply:If they are normal lines of credit 7-years from the last reporting date.
Reply:after u have paid in full, it takes up to 7 years to get removed..
Reply:It takes 7 years for the items to drop off your credit report. I am guessing that you didn't get it in writing from the creditors to put on the credit reports that the balances were paid in full. That would have been very beneficial.
Reply:It takes seven years for them to drop off, but after five you can request them to be removed and normally they will be removed from your credit report.
Reply:It is the policy of the bureaus to keep negative information on credit reports for 7 years
