What do I do if something is reporting twice on my credit report?

I have a student loan that is reporting twice on my credit report for the same amount adding up to twice the debt. This is effecting my credit score as well as my ability to get a job and I need to fix it fast. What do I do?

I would get a copy of your credit report. You can get three free copies of it a year. On there it should have a contact for the company that has something on your report. You could probably contact them and have them take it off... or you can file through the credit bearu and let them know and they can take it off...
Reply:Find out what credit report it is reporting on twice and then contact that reporting agency only to see if you can verbally have one of them deleted or if they will even cooperate with you. If not visit my site at www.vrtmg.com/mcaldwell we help and educate individuals all over the nation about credit and other things.
Reply:You need to dispute it. I recommend getting help from a good credit repair company, such as Unified Credit Services - http://www.unifiedcreditservices.com - I had some difficult items on my credit report and they were able to get it off, so this should be easy for them.
Reply:call up the credit bureaus and "dispute" the items. they will most likely take off one.

however, if they are both in good standing, it may actually help your score
Reply:Dispute it with the credit bureau as being duplicate entries.
