How long does a judgement stay on your credit report and how does it affect you?

How long does a judgement stay on your credit report and how does it affect you?
Judgments paid or not remain on your credit for 7-years or until the statute of limitations runs out whichever is longer.

As far as the affect, it will make it harder to qualify for loans for cars, boats, homes just about everything.

Judgments can also result in your bank accounts being seized, your wages garnished (if your State allows it) and liens being filed on your property like cars, boats, land and homes.
Reply:Negative accounts stay on your credit report for up to 7 years. Bankruptcies-10 years. It may be harder for you to gain access to credit in the future and they may even try to garnish your wages if it is a default judgment on a debt. It would be better if you could avoid going to court or go to court and work out a payment arrangement with the creditor.
Reply:In most states, judgments are good for at least 10 years (some 20 years) and can be renewed. Even if the judgment comes off your credit report, that doesn't mean that the judgment is not valid.
Reply:6 years and if you have judgements it stops lenders from lending to you as are deemed a credit risk xx
Reply:7 - 10 years.

Bad credit = harder to get loan
