What to pay first on a credit report?

I am looking at my credit report and it is filled with stuff that is really, really, really old. I want to pay everything off to raise my score but I was wondering in terms of accounts....how do you know which ones to pay first? Do you pay the accounts currently in collections first?

P.S. I have never had a credit card. My report has mainly medical bills, video store rental bills, and cell phone companies. Thank you for your help in advance.

Just be warned that paying it does not automatically removed it from your credit report. It will still be there are paid late or paid collections and both will not make your credit score rise.

You should try and negotiate a pay for delete deal with your collection agency.
Reply:I would pay the balance with the highest interest rate. Focus your attention on one bill at a time or even, but the medical bill is not your greatest concern, fix items can can prevent you from getting a job or housing.

People are more willing to forgive medical bills if a credit check is required, however showing fiscal responsibility with the cell phone and and rental bills is a huge no-no.
Reply:last bill to pay is the medical. i would talk to the collection agency and when you are making payments you ask them to remove any negative remarks off your credit report. they could do this.

good luck
Reply:I'd pay the medical last. You can't be denied medical care due to bad credit, but you can be denied future store rentals or phone services....at least without a hefty deposit. Start with the least amount so its not so overwhelming.
