Where could a landlord get a free credit report on a possible renter?

My parents own some rental property and have had a number of issues with bounced rent checks and bad renters. Is there a place they can go to get a credit report on rental applicants at no cost?

I pay a title company, 20 bucks a pop, I require it up front with the the application.
Reply:They could probably pay a real estate management company to check it for them for a fee. I think it cost 20 or 25 to check it. Im sure it is well worth it. My step mom has a real estate company and checks everyones credit, they break a lease or tear up a property and their credit gets slammed for that amount. If the people ever want to buy a house or car, they have to pay it to clear it up. It is so worth it! Tell them to check with a realtor.
Reply:At no cost, no.

I use www.clearscreening.com - there are no sign up or annual fees, you only pay per report. I pay for reports with the tenant's application fee.

In order to pull credit reports on potential tenants, you need a signed release statement on your application giving permission to do so.
Reply:I never heard of free ones but there are plenty of websites and landlord's associations that offer that service for a fee.
